To mark this milestone, we hosted a special anniversary dinner on March 12, 2025, at City St George’s, University of London. The event brought together our team, alumni, industry partners, and collaborators to reflect on the Centre’s achievements and look ahead to future innovations.
On March 12, 2025, the Centre for Compressor Technology at City St George’s, University of London hosted a special dinner to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The event brought together the whole team of the Centre, past and present collaborators, alumni, and industry leaders to reflect on the Centre’s rich history and exciting future.
Since its inception, our Centre has served as a place for research, education, and collaboration in compressor technology. We have built a reputation for excellence by combining cutting-edge research with practical engineering applications.
Over the years, Centre contributed to the technology with 13 patents, 3 books, 17 book chapters, more than 200 journal and 400 conference papers, numerous awards and recognitions. And perhaps the most important legacy, Centre had produced 24 PhD, who went on to be engineers and researchers leading the development and advancements in compressors and spreading the impact of the Centre even further.
Centre collaborated with and consulted more than 100 companies, which have not only fostered innovation but also ensured that Centre’s research directly benefits real-world applications. This unique blend of academic rigor and industry partnership has allowed the Centre to address the evolving challenges in compressor technology head-on.
The Centre for Compressor Technology has the biggest team in its history at the moment, counting 4 professors and lecturers, 4 researchers, 9 PhD students and a project coordinator.

The evening was not only a celebration of past achievements but also an opportunity to look toward the future. The Centre remains committed to advancing compressor technology through groundbreaking research, strong industry partnerships, and the training of future engineering leaders.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this milestone celebration so memorable, but also to all of those who were not able to join us but sent their warm congratulations. The success of the Centre for Compressor Technology over the past 30 years would not have been possible without the dedication and support of its friends.
Here’s to the next 30 years of innovation and excellence!
