Centre’s Team Presents Research at ICSM 2024

On September 6th, 2024, the CERES Industrial Consortium gathered at TU Dortmund for its Autumn Meeting, bringing together researchers from City St George’s, University of London, and industry professionals to discuss advancements in future energy systems. This event served as a platform to share the latest developments from ongoing projects and explore new ideas for future research.

The meeting highlighted key projects currently funded by CERES with support from City, University of London. These include:

Lubricants for oil-injected positive displacement machines
Theoretical and experimental investigation of screw compressor bearings
Artificial Intelligence tools for accelerated performance predictions and design in compressor systems (consultancy project)
Identification and reduction of sources of sound in positive displacement machines (MSc project)

In addition to these projects, several other important research updates were presented, showcasing the cutting-edge work being conducted in the field of compressors and expanders for future energy systems.

Part of the day was dedicated to discussing new ideas for upcoming projects. Participants engaged in collaborative discussions, brainstorming innovative research proposals that will help drive future advancements in energy systems.

The CERES Autumn Meeting not only served as a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and foster collaboration but also demonstrated the consortium’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of energy system research through innovative, industry-relevant solutions.
